TUFLOW UK Workshop 2010
Workshop 1
Bill Syme, the author of TUFLOW, will give workshops throughout the day on a range of subjects relating to TUFLOW’s new features including Advection and Dispersion modelling; Finite Volume techniques and TUFLOW MOR. In addition he will also give a presentation on urban pipe work network systems which is particularly relevant to the recent upsurge in Surface Water Management Plans in the UK.
Workshop 2
Workshop 2 will comprise interactive presentations relating to ISIS-TUFLOW linking and the configuration of Hydraulic Structures, Building and Fences within a TUFLOW domain. The workshops will be repeated in the afternoon to give everyone the chance to benefit from the sessions.
Workshop 3
The morning session of workshop 3 will include workshops designed for TUFLOW beginners and intermediate users. The objective would be to introduce TUFLOW to new users so that they can understand the principles of TUFLOW and benefit from the rest of the day. For more experienced users the objective would be to build on people’s existing experience so that they are able to address more complex issues such as 1D-2D linking, multiple domains, z-shapes and depth variant Manning’s curves.
Workshop 4
TUFLOW Clinic and Model Surgery will be run throughout the afternoon and will be an informal session. Users are encouraged to bring along badly behaving ISIS-TUFLOW and TUFLOW models for assessment and possible fixing. These sessions will include working with experienced ISIS, ISIS-TUFLOW and TUFLOW professionals including Chris Whitlow of Edenvale Young.

TUFLOW UK USER GROUP MEETING 2010 (Arup Bristol)
Many large and small UK consultants and public bodies have made TUFLOW by a country mile the most popular and well used 2D hydraulic modelling software in the UK. The objective of the TUFLOW User Group is to give the modelling community an opportunity to discuss the current status and future of the software and at the same time give feedback to the developers. This will be achieved by stimulating debate through the presentation of case studies which have stretched the capability of TUFOW or novel applications in the use of TUFOW.
Bill Syme, the TUFLOW Author and Manager, will give a presentation about recent developments in 2-D modeling and TUFLOW. Bill will also give his views on the future challenges for river and coastal modelling. This will be followed by six presentations on six subjects from Edenvale Young, Mott MacDonald, Arup, JBA Consulting/Environment Agency Wales and Capita Symonds to stimulate debate within the User Group.
